No child in Pennsylvania should go without health insurance coverage. This session will provide advocates with a primer on health insurance options for kids in Pennsylvania, with a focus on Medicaid.

The session will offer an opportunity to learn about the following topics: Medicaid eligibility; how to apply for coverage; available services for kids on Medicaid including an overview of the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit which provides comprehensive health care services for kids; and what to do if a client's application or service is denied.

While Medicaid will be the focus of this presentation, we will also touch briefly on other health insurance options available to kids who do not qualify for Medicaid, such as Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
