As most of the 3 million Pennsylvanians covered by Medicaid are now enrolled in managed care, it is vital that advocates understand how the managed care system works - and sometimes doesn't work - for our clients. This session will teach advocates about PA's managed care delivery systems, including the Physical Health and Behavioral Health HealthChoices programs as well as Community HealthChoices (CHC). Topics covered will include how to pick a managed care plan, how to access services, and a brief overview of the services available to adults and children in managed care.  Prior knowledge of public benefits and Medicaid is not a pre-requisite.
