James Tiderington is a supervising attorney for the Medical Legal Community Partnership (MLCP) of Philadelphia Legal Assistance (PLA). The MLCP at PLA provides free legal services to patients of our medical partners. Those Medical partners include: Esperanza Health Center, Delaware Valley Community Health, Einstein Medical Center, Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia Department of Public Health, and Health Partners Plans. James supervises a team of 14 staff that embed legal advocates at health centers to assist and advise eligible patients with a wide variety of legal issues and social determinants of health.Â
James’ previous experience includes his work as a Staff Attorney with the Family Law Unit at PLA, a Child Advocate at the Defender’s Association of Philadelphia, and two years serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama. He is barred in Michigan and Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Franklin Pierce Law Center and Michigan State University. Outside of work, James enjoys practicing his Spanish, running, and is a self-proclaimed donut connoisseur.
