Carol Hardeman
Hill District Consensus Group Executive Director
Pittsburgh, PA
Carol Hardeman is the Executive Director of the Hill District Consensus Group. Carol is a dedicated community activist with more than 20 years of experience in managing public and community affairs. Carol’s professional background includes: program development, stakeholder relations, community engagement, project management, and business administration. She has worked all her life lobbying for massive societal change in her community relating to fair housing, healthcare, quality education, income/wages, and food apartheid. During her community justice work, she has learned that the economic dilemmas and setback of people of color are due to decades of persistent injustices and premeditated racism.
In her current position at the Hill District Consensus Group, she educates residents about their fair housing rights and is very committed to getting residents centrally involved in the major actions to ensure that their neighborhood needs are adequately met. She believes that we all must rise together through our inner strength, gifts, and greater willingness to address massive racial constraints in order to intensify collective change. She also believes in leading residents through an amazing journey of healing, seeking, discovery, and growing as one accord. Carol holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Point Park University and a Master’s of Public Administration from Carnegie Mellon University.
