Welcome to the 2020 PLAN Virtual Statewide Conference

All workshops will be presented virtually by webinar on the Zoom platform. You must register for individual workshop webinars by clicking the Register for the Webinar button appearing in the workshop description and completing the registration information to be admitted into the webinar.

Pennsylvania CLE credits will be available to attorneys who actively participate in webinars and indicate their participation through polls displayed periodically during the webinars.

Kate Vengraitis is an attorney in the SSI and Health and Independence Units at Community Legal Services. Ms. Vengraitis began her career at CLS as a law student intern in 2013. Her practice focuses on representing adults and children facing issues attaining and maintaining Supplemental Security Income benefits. She also assists older adults and individuals with disabilities in matters involving access to home and community based services, as well as administrative and legislative advocacy, community education and outreach.

Previously Ms. Vengraitis was a Stoneleigh Foundation Emerging Leader Fellow and Attorney in the Juvenile Unit of the Defender Association of Philadelphia, where she sought to advance education advocacy for court-involved youth. Ms. Vengraitis also clerked for the Honorable Franklin S. Van Antwerpen for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

As a third-year law student, Ms. Vengraitis received the Harry and Esther Brown Foundation Award for Outstanding Achievement in Health, Aging or Disability Law. Upon graduation from law school she received the Beth Cross Award for Dedication to Underserved Populations and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She also served as the Executive Editor of the Temple Law Review from 2014-2015.

Ms. Vengraitis earned her J.D. magna cum laude from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2015. She received her B.A. in history and art history from Cornell University in 2005, and M.P.H. in health policy and management from Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health in 2012.
