Pennsylvania CLE credits will be available to attorneys who actively participate in webinars and indicate their participation through polls displayed periodically during the webinars.

Nadia Hewka

Nadia Hewka started at CLS in 1997 as a Staff Attorney in the Employment Law Project, where she currently works as a Senior Attorney and heads its Vulnerable Workers project. She has developed specializations in representation of immigrant workers and particularly undocumented workers, the rights of people with criminal records, and tax issues affecting low wage workers. She has successfully argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Her advocacy work has centered on issues of concern for low wage workers, such as raising the minimum wage, wage theft enforcement, paid sick leave, and domestic workers rights. She is one of the founders of the Coalition for Restaurant Safety and Health, a project designed to prevent sexual harassment in Philadelphia restaurants.

Nadia served as the Board Chair of the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition for six years. She has served two terms as the President of the Pennsylvania Legal Services Union, a unit of the National Organization of Legal Services Workers. She has been a member of the PA Minimum Wage Advisory Board since its inception.

In 2008, Nadia received the Excellence Award, presented by the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, in recognition of her work at CLS. In 2013 she received the Crystal Eastman award from PhilaPOSH.

She received her J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1995, graduating cum laude, and her B.A from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990.
